The Orbit
A Blue Marble
I fell asleep watching a movie he recommended, still recovering from yesterday. I woke up to the sound of drums, and when I went to turn out the lights, my column in the corner stayed lit. It sits in the corner of True North. As I looked out the window, a trio, a skateboarder, a couple of dogs, and a runner could be seen. Out of the corner of my eye, A car sat, lights blinking. I returned to my mailbox, where one book remained. A shelf at its feet. A note on top. “Picture frames” in red. It made me think of something I once heard in the grapevine. “Build to the sky.” … I was in pajama pants with the planets on them. I placed the new shelf in my bathroom and put on some vintage jeans. As I looked at my coats, I realized I’d never gone for a walk in the park so late at night.
