I’ve had two Great Mentors— both female and both the generation before me. They maintained a balance. The millennials had technology implemented into romance at a much better time in their lives. They had already learned enough about themselves and learned to be careful with one another. While it wasn’t a guaranteed win for everyone, with a little bit of luck, the success rate was much higher. There was probably a point when the careless were outliers. The following generation experienced that power too early in life, too often leading to carelessness and default user error. Mindless swiping, quick dopamine hits, easy ego boosting, and fast times are learned behaviors. While there are still success stories, 93% of the dating population are swiping with varied intentions and habits. The chances of a win in this generation felt like 7 % with an incredible amount of luck.
